It offers insight into what she may have know or not known of the abuse suffered by her daughter at the hand of her husband but also into the abuse she herself suffered. The story is told in the author's mother's voice. She became a writer out of a desire to make a difference in a. I had to stop reading at one point because the vividness of the writing overwhelmed me, it was just that good. Evans, is a passionate ally for the transgender community. I guess that's a huge compliment saying I wish the author wrote more. I enjoyed the authors voice and instruction and was sad when it ended. The only regret I have is that I wish the book was longer. ![]() I also enjoyed the conversational style in which she wrote the book. The first, I Promised Not to Tell, won a bronze medal in the 2017. Viga also pulls from other experienced memoir writers (with their permission of course) to added more value and more perspectives to this very helpful book. Don't Write Your Memoir Without Me gave me that I one gem and then some! This is the perfect book for new writers interested in memoir writing but it is also good for seasoned writers to gain a new perspective. When I read books like this I'm looking for that one gem that I can pull from it and run with in my own writing. ![]()
